The Growing Season Begins

A sunny weekend meant we could get out into the vegetable garden and begin to plant some seeds.

We had some orange and red cherry tomatoes, some rainbow beetroot, some rather unusual purple-podded peas (Willow's choice!), runner beans and two types of courgettes.

Our raised beds are a blank canvas right now - save for some rhubarb sprouting up, some brave parsley hanging on from last year and a few raspberry canes.

Not a bad view for some seed-sowing!

Don't be fooled by the Pig's innocent face...she made the most of being unsupervised by digging holes hunting for mice!

The tomatoes and courgettes got brought inside in seed trays to germinate. The rest went straight into the beds - fingers crossed they do better than last year's attempts, which were sad indeed.
