Easter at the Old Sheep Farm

Easter Sunday brought the most glorious spring weather. We had a very excited two-year-old who couldn't wait to get out into the garden!

She was even more excited when she learnt that the Easter Bunny had visited and hidden some eggs around the Old Sheep Farm for her to find! I actually don't really know the tradition of the Easter Bunny - I presumed he was supposed to come in the night, a bit like Father Christmas, but was stumped when Willow asked me why he had hidden some eggs. She followed with a further head-scratcher - why wasn't he a chicken? Er...be quiet and go and find some eggs!

In amongst the daffodils, under the willow tree, in the vegetable garden...that bunny had hidden little eggs far and wide.

The eggs were hollow, and each opened to reveal a tiny toy - a little fluffy chick, a tiny bunny, a sparkly toy carrot...

The grand prize was at the end of the egg hunt - a real chocolate egg nestled in the old boat in the paddock! Willow got a tiny taste, and the rest mysteriously disappeared soon after (Daddy...).

Then it was time to go in and have some homemade wholemeal hot crossed buns. Now, I am an advocate for presenting 'real life' online...so here, behold my wonky, honest, 'rustic' hot crossed buns! Some exploded. And believe it or not, this was the 'good' second batch...!

But they were enjoyed, all the same!
