The Four Seasons at the Old Sheep Farm

Whatever time of year you choose to visit, the Old Sheep Farm offers a slice of heaven in Snowdonia National Park

Winter

Sparkling frosts and crisp mountain air

Winter is truly beautiful at the Old Sheep Farm. Everything is fresh, clean and invigorating. You are only a short walk away from the snowy hills and your very own winter wonderland playground!  If you are lucky, the wild ponies come down from the snow-covered mountains to graze close to our cottages.

When you are ready to warm up, our cottages will keep you cosy with their underfloor heating and wood burning stoves. If you are visiting over the festive period, the cottages are beautifully decorated to make your holiday extra special!

Spring

The landscape is waking up, bursting into buds

Spring is a magical time at the Old Sheep Farm. The mountains are covered in hawthorn blossom and the sound of buzzing bees. Welsh daffodils are bursting from the earth, and the fields surrounding the cottages are full of frolicking lambs! The mountain ponies are in foal, and we begin to welcome back the wonderfully varied birds and wildlife. And importantly, our resident free-range chickens begin to lay their multicoloured eggs once again, ready for us to share them with you for your breakfast!

Summer

The sunshine beams down on heather-covered mountains, sparkling blue seas and white sandy beaches

Summer at the Old Sheep Farm really is the best British staycation. Whether you fancy sunbathing on the beach with an ice cream, picnicking by the babbling river in the dappled sunlight, or hiking into the mountains, you can have it all on the coast of Snowdonia.

Autumn

The ancient oak woodland turns golden, and squirrels and birds are busy in the berry-laden hedgerows

The Old Sheep Farm is the perfect place to enjoy the autumn colours, before cosying up in our warm cottages to warm your toes next to the wood-burning stove. Help yourself to the ripe blackberries and apples found in the orchard, and enjoy a good film or board game in the evenings. Whether it is a clear, crisp autumn day or a wild, stormy night, Autumn has its own special charm here.
